Time Capsule + Leopard = Easy backups.
Apple recently released Time Capsule. What is it? It’s
a wireless router with a built in hard drive for Time Machine
backups. If you have Leopard on a computer with Time Capsule
you can have the contents of your machine automatically
backed up with no interaction from you after the initial
setup. With digital cameras being so easy to use and our
ever-growing iTunes libraries, having a backup is crucial to
making sure we don’t lose anything when our hard drives
die.
We offer these Apple’s Time Capsule through our
web store.
Is
Leopard ready?
The answer is finally a solid, “YES!”. Leopard is
Apple’s fifth version of OS X and offers a lot of
features not found in previous versions. Time Machine is one
of them and better Spotlight searching is another. They also
improve upon technologies found in previous versions of the
OS, like encrypted chats, better compatibility with software,
and being overall more efficient to use. Check out
Apple’s site on
Leopard.
If
your computer can handle running Leopard and you want to
upgrade we can do that for you! If your computer cannot
handle Leopard it might be time to consider a new machine and
we can also help you migrate to that new Mac and dispose of
the old one for you.
